Chef Migaku Inaba is renowned for his profound dedication to the art of Japanese cuisine. His culinary journey began in the picturesque settings of Shizuoka, where he was deeply influenced by the rich natural resources and the culinary heritage of the region. After honing his skills at the esteemed hotel Kiyomizu, Chef Inaba received the prestigious “Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Award,” a testament to his skill and innovation in the kitchen. Speaking as someone who’s had Japanese fine dining across the globe, this place is amazing and very worth the price. As a Kaiseki restaurant, their hot dishes are amazing and very rare dishes to find in Seattle. The amount of food was also very worth the price although we were SO full by the end.

Migaku is a gem in an otherwise quiet section of the Ballard area. Providing an intimate and intricate experience to a traditional style sushi, you’ll be amazed at the quality and freshness of the ingredients! 🥹 for those trying the Kobe beef nigiri, I was brought back to my first time having this style beef in Kobe Japan. Great for a date night at the table side or if you don’t mind, the sushi bar is a fun way to share a delicious meal.

The chef and the employees were all very welcoming and provided details of each dish in English. Definitely recommend coming by to try out the experience! 💯

We loved the cozy atmosphere and the warm and attentive service by the chef and staff. The kaiseki menu was delicious and quite filling. We enjoyed the variety and beauty of each dish. The sake pairing was perfect.
Even though this restaurant just opened a few weekends ago, everything was done so well.
We also appreciated the fact they wanted feedback at the end of the meal. It made us feel like we could contribute to making this amazing new restaurant even better. We are looking forward to coming back.
