What is Kaiseki?
Kaiseki is a traditional Japanese dining experience known for its meticulous preparation, exquisite presentation, and the use of seasonal, fresh ingredients. The meal consists of multiple courses, each carefully crafted to showcase both the natural flavors of the ingredients and the artistic creativity of the chef. Kaiseki meals are often seen as a form of culinary art and are deeply rooted in Japanese culture and aesthetics, reflecting the change of seasons, a sense of place, and a Zen-like attention to detail. The dishes served vary widely depending on the season and the chef’s interpretation of the kaiseki philosophy.
